Don't you hate it when life smacks you in the back of the head? Like someone just stepped behind you without anyone noticing, aimed a two by four just perfectly in the exact centre of the back of your cranium and- Bam! Swing, hit, and your mind has been blown out of here.

If you're answer is yes...then we have some things to chat about, congratulations you're a human being with a sense of reality. If your answer is no, then you will either A. understand soon. Or, B. live a life of denial. We'll say it like it is.

Boy, have I got some things to chat about.
Just the other day I got my annual dosage of- "Hey, get a grip of reality dear. You're living life and you better make the best of it. You wanna know why? Well, I don't mean to be blunt, dear. But...you're going to die. You know. Just in case you managed to FORGET."

Oh yea. I forgot.

I'm not that awesome anime character or super hero in those comic books I read. You know, the ones that manage to cheat death, live over 900 years, find the fountain of youth and have really cool powers. I'm just me. Almost 18 and just now realizing that I'm really here. So I stop and I think. As I usually do as I am one of those who over analyze.

We live life like clockwork.

Wake up it's time for school. Sit down it's time to do your work. Get up it's time to go home. Stop now, have to do homework. Don't forget-- have to make dinner. But first it's time to go to work. Get home take a shower. Get out time to go to sleep. Stop. Repeat.

A repetitive process that is impossible to break. Really it is. It's a cycle that humans can not function without. If we had no direction or schedules in our lives I think almost 99.9% of us would walk around in some sort of bamboozled state where we are stuck between decided if we want to eat, sleep, or multiply. Really. What else is there to do? We're a species completely dedicated to survival. Key to survival? Instincts. Eat. Sleep. Multiply. It is instinct for us to want to populate.

Right?

Or maybe we are all destined to become sex addicts. Over indulging eaters or dreamers who want to sleep their life away.

So what does this have to do with me realizing I'm going to die one day?

I don't want to be like that.

I don't want to continue like clock work. And I don't want to succumb to everything that humans are expected to do.

But in this time and age. I can't afford not to. I have to go to school so I can get an education. I have to go to work so I can get money. I have to eat and sleep because I have to stay healthy.

So what I am going to do is-- I'm going to play along with this game that is going on.

But I'm going to do it with my eyes open.

I'm not going in blind.

Not anymore.

I might as well make the best of it.
